Ways to order your prescriptions

Through your GP

Order your repeat prescription directly with your GP surgery, online or using their repeat slip. If you’ve nominated Ashburton Pharmacy, it comes straight to us electronically.

Through the NHS App

Order repeats in a couple of taps with the free NHS App, using your NHS login. Your request goes to your GP, and once approved the prescription is sent to us automatically.

Free text alerts

Sign up to our free texting service in-store and we’ll send you a text message as soon as your prescription is ready to collect — no need to call or make a wasted trip.

Please allow a few working days between ordering a repeat prescription and collection, so your GP has time to approve the request and we have time to prepare your medication. Sign up to our free text alerts and we’ll message you as soon as it’s ready — and we’ll always let you know if there’s a delay or a supply issue.

What does it mean to "nominate" a pharmacy?
Nomination tells the NHS Electronic Prescription Service where to send your prescriptions automatically. Nominate Ashburton Pharmacy — through the NHS App, or by asking us or your GP — and there's no paper prescription to collect or drop off; it simply arrives with us electronically.
Can I manage prescriptions for someone else?
Yes — you can collect medication for loved ones as well as yourself, and your GP surgery can set up proxy access so you can order their repeats on their behalf. Ask our team and we’ll point you in the right direction.
How will I know when my medication is ready?
Sign up to our free text message service and we’ll send you a text as soon as your prescription is ready to collect. You’re also welcome to call us on 01364 652222 and we’ll check for you.
Do you handle private prescriptions too?
Yes — bring in any private prescription and we'll dispense it promptly. If we need to order your medication in, we'll tell you when it will be ready.
